The @ICEgov warehouses being planned across the country are extremely serious. Many PA'ians are rightly scared – and angry at ICE for buying these warehouses in PA and for their treatment of immigrants and American citizens. This issue deserves serious, fact-based reporting. 6/

But @SpotlightPA did not include any of that context in their story. Instead, they wrote an inaccurate lede and made a misleading graphic. The public first became aware of these plans at the exact same time as the Shapiro Admin – and we've been working to stop ICE since. 5/

Most importantly, the lede & framing of this story are blatantly inaccurate. @SpotlightPA's lede is written to make it sound like state government knew about these facilities before the public. That is false. 2/

We work on dozens of news stories every day. Sometimes we agree with the premise and framing, sometimes we don't – that's OK. But this from @SpotlightPA is extremely irresponsible for an outlet that claims to do "high-quality" reporting. 1/
