The emotion in this is urging everyone to get on IKF and say if he had a bigger primary or secondary he would have been safe. The reality is he played it by the book, by the philosophy, and Rojas made a great play. It’s painful, but yes, it is a game of inches. #FreeIKF

same distance away from that object as the thing moving 13 feet away. It’s not an exact science. The point is get to a point where you cannot get picked off, and you cannot get doubled up. You’re scoring on a base hit or sac fly. That’s the thought. That’s what’s taught.

2. A lot of people have said “but he wasn’t the same distance as Muncy.” Go outside. Find a still object. Now put a moving object 13 feet from that still object. Now you go 90 degrees from that same object. Look to the right, take one shuffle, and try and end up at the exact…

Quick thread: So there’s a lot of back and forth on this play. 1. Some people disagree with the strategy. Fair. But that’s how it’s coached. From Spring training to in game of game 7 of the World Series. 30 other clubs would’ve been telling IKF the exact same thing.

No. It’s like saying, I stayed in my lane and hit the deer instead of swerving left into oncoming traffic or right into 2 big oak trees. But hey, there was an exact car sized gap in between the trees I may have been able to squeeze through while going 60.
@WhitMerrifield @Sean_Tabor @bnicholsonsmith This is a funny chain. It's like saying: "you ran over that puppy" "yes but, I stayed in my lane" Gross Runner made 2 errors in a World Series winning scenario. Didn't take a bigger lead (his run wins the game) Slides feet first? I mean seriously.. Atrocious

This is a different argument. Maybe. But what if the throw takes the catcher glove slide, they collide and IKF misses home? What if they’re trying to turn 2 (home to first) and IFK sliding hits Smith’s leg and he throws it away (this is taught). There’s so many if’s you can play
@WhitMerrifield Should have ran through home instead of sliding.

He did exactly right here. The #1 rule with bases loaded and less than 2 outs is you cannot get doubled up on a line drive to 3rd baseman. So your lead is as far as the 3rd baseman is from the bag. He did this perfect.

I am so sad for my friends on the Jays. And for my friends in Columbia. But the sun comes up tomorrow! An hour earlier though, so that sucks.

How does any recruit come to Columbia and not commit on the spot? Even with the loss, what an atmosphere! Unmatched

I simply cannot believe Seattle took Castillo out in the 3rd inning down 1 run and up 2-1 in the series…

It is haunted. Just with ghosts who like to mess with you, not evil ones.

Of all the false starts we’ve had this year, you decide not to blow the play dead for movement there??

For a guy that size, to hit that pitch like that… absurd
