Having a disability does .not make you weak. Having a disability makes you .stronger than most. You are fighting your hardest everyday in a battle against yourself .and not surrendering. It takes a lot of strength to do what you do, remember that.

One of the hardest things about having a chronic illness that isn’t talked about enough - . Mentally wanting to be able to do something,.but physically not being able .to do it. This leads to feeling incapable & jealous of people who aren’t held down by a chronic illness.

A sentence that almost everyone.with a chronic illness can.relate to -.“I want to live, .not just survive.”. Someone with a chronic illness may be unable to live their life the way they want to. & that is because.instead of focusing on living, .we are focused on surviving.

Most people wake up rested,.with their battery at 100% and .end their day with a battery at 50%. Those with chronic illness.wake up with their battery at.40% and hope their battery.doesn’t run out before the .day ends. Sometimes giving 40% is .all we have,.be patient with us.

The toll that chronic illness .& chronic pain takes on .your mental health is not .spoken about enough. It’s almost like a anchor .holding us back from .living the life we have .always dreamed of.

Don’t forget that you’re human. It’s okay to cry and be angry at the world,.it’s okay to wish things were different and your suffering didn’t exist. Just don’t forget to be kind to yourself,.when at the end of the day you are your own biggest supporter.

Reminder:. You are MORE than your illness. You are MORE than your pain. You may feel like unbelievably identified by your illness and symptoms,.but you are so much more. I hope you find the peace you need to remember you are still YOU.

Your pain is valid even if -. no one believes you. It’s invisible . you don’t have a diagnosis. no one understands.
