Six years ago I was in Seattle learning from some of the best at @DrivelineBB. Hard to believe it’s only been that long — even crazier what’s happened since. Grateful for the chance to learn, grow, and work with so many great people along the way.

Ultimately, it’s about holding them to the standard, but even more importantly, holding yourself to it.

never set one you aren’t willing to uphold yourself or enforce consistently with your players. Most importantly, be authentic. Players aren’t dumb—they know when you’re being genuine and when you’re not. They can tell the difference between real conviction and lip service.

I’ll bite….First, as a coach, you need to establish clear standards—standards your players understand and trust that you genuinely believe in. For example, I’ll never get upset about a physical mistake; those happen. Mental mistakes are different. But whatever your standards are

When is it the right time to show emotion in the dugout as a leader of the team? Good emotion or bad emotion. When things happen on the field, everyone in the dugout will look to the manager, pitching coach, or hitting coach to see how they react. What tactics or ways have

Yamamoto with the biggest stones I’ve ever seen ever in competition. 96 pitches in game 6… YESTERDAY! 2 great starts and 3 innings right there… I mean… amazing.

Yamamoto. 27 seconds to make 1 throw during Long Toss. Talk about being Engaged. Talk about the Process. Throwing is an art form. And shocker….he’s throwing it HIGH and FAR 😁. #1Arm, #1Career@PitchingNinja⁩ ⁦@TreadAthletics

Tried explaining to my boys tonight that this was what it was like to watch Jordan. You expected greatness but you still walked away impressed, knowing you just watched the greatest of all time.

Shohei Ohtani pitched 6 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits and struck out 10 batters and hit 3 home runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 to complete the sweep and advance to the World Series. No one has ever seen anything like this before.

Stuff fades, but heart, nuts & guts don’t. True competitor — the kind you want on your side in a street fight. Not afraid to die. Unfortunately a rare breed anymore. 12 guys like this on a staff? We’re winning ballgames all day. 🫡

Look at the chest direction of each of these players, regardless of the drill — that’s the story. They’re all fighting to stay through the wall. Pitchers, same idea for you: take your direction through your catcher. 💪🔥

64% fastballs at 89 mph in 2002 in the MLB with the same guns we use today 89 MPH at 64% is found at every street corner at the high school level. Being able to “make it” is harder than ever. Train accordingly.

Winthrop University is a nice college baseball program, they finished middle of the pack in the Big South last season, 31-29 overall. They have SIXTEEN (16) pitchers who were 90+ MPH this fall, three at 95+. Extrapolate that over all the college programs in the country. Lest
