Not to mention as an international scholar your visa can be delayed for >3 months, forcing you stuck in the US, unemployed with no health insurance in a pandemic haha. It's not about working hard or not. It's about the system that deprives every opportunity we could have.
I'm just gonna say it:. International postdocs in the US who make it into faculty positions deserve a f*cking 🏅 There are very few opportunities for non-citizens/non-permanent residents to show we can secure extramural funding . All committees - remember that!.
