First up, the heartbreaking story (15m) of Alice Ayres who lost her life saving young members of her family during a fire in Southwark in the spring of 1885. Alice's story became famous and remains a keystone of 'everyday heroism': https://t.co/TGu6Me06KR @JpaPrice

We support the decision by stakeholders not to add further tablets to the Watts Memorial. We do, however, strongly support the idea to make Postman's Park, as a whole, a commemorative garden dedicated to civilian heroism and will put our full weight behind that plan.

@neilcrossfield What a coincidence! This is one of the 'Forgotten Heroes of Postman's Park' who I'm researching at the moment; people who were listed to featured on the @WattsMemorial but who got forgotten.
