Cleaning up an address book after 23 years is like browsing a scrapbook of your professional life. More than 2,300 entries, some of which bring back fond or painful career memories. Some who passed, but I find it difficult to delete them.

In southern NV, the carbon sequestration of a lawn is exceeded by the discharge created by the first two inches of irrigation water. A typical lawn here gets 117 inches of water applied via sprinklers. Your lawn is carbon neutral until about Valentine's Day.

@LVVWD serves about 70% of the region, including the Las Vegas Strip. New buildings will use waterless technologies, while older buildings will have access to incentives for efficiency improvements.

Today, the Board of the Las Vegas Valley Water District unanimously supported a policy to prohibit installation of evaporative cooling in new commercial projects. This community is galvanized in its support for innovative water management solutions.

Cooling system evaporation is second only to landscape irrigation in driving Southern Nevada's consumptive water use. Tomorrow, the @lvvwd board considers an innovative policy to require waterless cooling solutions in new commercial development.

@polotek An engineer will either tell you something is impossible, and proceed to do it in 20 minutes or tell you it’s trivial before realizing it’s actually going to take 2 years. There is no in between.
