I am eye witness to this historic event. To avert a serious clash Mirwaiz Moulana Farooq requeted Sheikh Sahib to lead the Eid Prayers in the absence of Imam e Haye who had passed away.
Abba carefully preserved this historic picture of the prayer that my maternal grandfather led at Eid Gah, Srinagar in 1981. Those who prayed along with him that day were people of diverse political leanings.
