The WASP mourns the loss of one of the World's greatest climate adaptation science champions, Prof. Saleemul Huq, co-founder of the WASP. He passed away in Dhaka on 29 October, 2023. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the ICCCAD Community. He will be dearly missed.

On October 2 and 6, the WASP held its hybrid Fourth Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada. We discussed the work of the Committees, the Working Groups, the Secretariat and the Core Projects, as well as the outcomes of Adaptation Futures 2023, and future directions of the WASP.

In the closing plenary of @AdaptFutures 2023, the WASP was honored to announce that the 2025 Adaptation Futures conference will be held in Christchurch, New Zealand. #AdaptFutures2023

Last week at @AdaptFutures, the WASP led sessions on the Global Goal on Adaptation, research questions on loss and damage, and advancing adaptation effectiveness. All three sessions included important and engaging discussions on advancing climate adaptation science and research.
