Yes, a big BZ to Yoshiharu Fukushima for a great set of images shot while embarked with the JMSDF during joint exercises with UK Carrier Strike Group (superb 4-page photo special inside the mag) & also Michael Nitz for pics of the Indian Navy frigate - ship profile piece inside.

Our Assistant Editor, and imagery contributor, @StephenJagger4 was at Portsmouth recently and captured some video footage of this historic vessel, MGB 81, which saw combat in the Channel & N. Sea during WW2. Preserved by the Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust & looking good!

1/3 As expected, the annual Russian strategic nuclear forces exercise came today and was a rather modest affair. The Northern Fleet Delta IV-class SSBN Bryansk, which finished a lengthy overhaul not too long ago, fired a SS-N-23 from the Barents Sea.

2/2 VAdml Kulakov is a elderly, tho' tough, Udaloy Class destroyer. Entered service 1981, having been laid down 1978 & launched 1980. A Wildcat helicopter of the UK Fleet Air Arm's 815 Naval Air Squadron took part in the op plus a Dutch NH90 helicopter & the French Navy. RN pic.

1/2 Destroyer HMS Duncan committed to a 48-hour shadowing operation on Russian Navy warship RFS Vice Admiral Kulakov in the English Channel. Unusual for recent times in being a direct tasking from the NATO maritime HQ Northwood in London. Royal Navy video (Duncan nearest).

Very busy in the production period for @WarshipsIFR magazine's next edition, but cannot let Trafalgar Day slide by without again sharing a montage of pics by my friend & co-author of two HMS Victory books Jonathan Eastland. A replica HMS Pickle has 'sneaked' into one shot.

A good day for Ukraine with renewed allied political/military support in Brussels and new UK sanctions. Ukraine obv very concerned about the winter and staying in the fight in 2026 and beyond. A massive tease today that Trump will announce Tomahawk on Friday. Here I explain why

3/3 Probs seemingly confirmed y'day by NATO Sec Gen Mark Rutte who said: "There is a lone and broken Russian submarine limping home from patrol. What a change from the 1984 Tom Clancy novel ‘The Hunt for Red October.’ Today, it seems more like the hunt for the nearest mechanic."
