If someone sends me a calendar link who asks to meet with me there’s a very small change I’ll ever fill it out. Multiple companies have approached me this way and it’s never worked, just ask me what times I’m free or put one up and have a human convo man.
Just call. Don't schedule, don't send me a link to pick a time, don't show me your open slots, just pick up the phone and call. I'll answer or I'll call you back. I bet we'll naturally find a time to talk that day. It'll all work out.

(To be clear, JSON is insanely slow and is a wild standard we chose, but it’s probably not the bottleneck for general HTTP API consumption, things change on some streaming protocol like game server or some other impl tho sure).

recently had to consume a public grpc streaming api from a VERY large app. shit was awful. it’s their fault - but grpc is far easier to shoot yourself in the foot with when you don’t work in an env that owns both sides. in many cases the cpu time spent on json is negligible when.

This new push based API is pretty good for reducing API traffic (around 10x+ decrease). Latency still sucks though, I get their chat is globally replicated but damn it’s rough.
