Pooled ride-hail trips still pollute more than even private cars do. What works? Designing streets that prioritize people walking, biking, and taking transit.

“There’s no question that more cars equals more crashes, so it’s no surprise that streets where people and transit are prioritized over traffic aren’t just more efficient and more pleasant; they’re also much safer."

A quiet Presidents Day reminds us how much safer our city is when there are fewer cars around. The Busway is proof every day.

Blueprint Denver's modal priorities rank delivery of goods and services above single occupant vehicles, yet vastly more space downtown is dedicated to car parking rather than delivery zones, which is one of the main reasons delivery trucks end up in the bike lane.

We agree with @UPS - Denver's current street designs are not aligned with our city's stated priorities, and that's the root cause of a lot of conflict among people trying to use the street for different purposes.

Wow, great statement from ⁦@UPS⁩: “The curb today in most American cities is overwhelmingly devoted to single occupancy personal vehicle parking, which is simply unsustainable and not aligned with most cities’ stated transportation priorities”

Sometimes construction creates temporary road diets, like this one at 13th and Kalamath. The snow nicely marks out space that could be reclaimed for people walking and biking. We visited at 5 pm and traffic was moving smoothly. Maybe make it permanent @DenverDOTI?
