Gordon Brown announced HS2 to fanfare in 2009 citing a cost of £20bn. The projected final cost is closer to £100bn and that's for a vastly reduced project. Where is the 'Ferries' style pursuit of Labour and the Tories for this national catastrophe? £billions wasted.
