(2/3) In addition, BCPS is restructuring the device swap process to provide a better experience for students and staff. Friday’s schedule will be a voluntary opportunity for elementary teachers to receive a swap device.

(1/3) Due to the impending inclement weather, there will be no device reimaging on Wednesday, December 16, or Thursday, December 17. BCPS will resume device reimaging on Friday, December 18.

UPDATE: Services have been restored! We will continue to monitor throughout the day. Google is experiencing a global outage that is impacting Google Meet and Chromebook logins. BCPS is monitoring this outage closely and will update this message when services return.

This spring was an emergency. Narrowing curriculum was done to mitigate the challenges of the sudden shift. Removing art, PE, music, library, & other contents from students’ schedules this fall is NOT an okay option. Do not use a pandemic to devalue any aspect of education.

I just want to take a moment to say loudly and clearly-Special area teachers are teachers. Our related arts courses are often the reason many students want to come to school.
