In a Hardwood Hustle podcast with @AlanSteinJr many years back, I believe they gave the number 2.5 for the average lifespan of a varsity coach. Largely, gone are the days of a coach being in a community for 10+ years.
Sample size: 125 AZ HS head football coaches. 2 years or less coaching experience: 63. Between 3-5 years: 32. Between 6-9: 17. Between 10-15: 8. 16-19: 4. 20 plus: 1.
