Everyone knows the laws around driving with alcohol or drugs in your system and the majority of us do the right thing. So why do some still insist on risking it? Since 1st December 152 people have failed a roadside breath or drugs test. Don't risk it! #OpLimit

Most people know it makes sense to stay alcohol free when driving. Following a national survey 91% agreed drink driving was unacceptable and 92% said they would feel ashamed if they were caught drinking and driving. Driving this Christmas? Don’t risk it! #OpLimit

Don’t forget – the clocks change this weekend. 🚗 Take the time to check your vehicle lights are in good working order. 🚲 If you're out on your bike, don’t forget your lights and if out late walking the dog think about how visible you are. #BeBrightBeSeen

Take a chance on knowing your limit? As part of Op Spotlight we're highlighting the issue of mixing alcohol with driving. Alcohol affects everyone differently. Even just one drink could put you over the limit. If you’re planning on driving, don’t drink. #OpSpotlight

Enforcing the speed limit takes place 24/7 by operational officers and our speed enforcement team. Over the next two weeks we will be supporting Op Spotlight to highlight what impact speed and the 'Fatal 4' has on collisions. #SlowDown

Did you know? Vehicle stopping distances are at least double in wet weather. There is a lot of surface water currently on the roads, reduce your speed and keep your distance. Do not attempt to drive through flood water. For the latest updates follow the @metoffice.

Who is Bridget Driscoll? The first person killed in the UK by a car on August 17th 1896. The coroner said he hoped “such a thing would never happen again” Records began in 1926 and since then over 500,000 people have lost their lives on our roads. #RoadVictimMonth
