Meanwhile the @WAHouseDems gutted the bill that would have restored the free school meals program for every student in the state.
The free-lunch program that fed every U.S. public school student for just $11 billion a year? Expired. Meanwhile, Congress ADDED $45 bil to the already $800+ billion Pentagon budget. We can absolutely afford to alleviate child hunger. Priorities are just apparently elsewhere.

Earlier this week, UFCW 3000 members joined the Stay Healthy, Stay Housed coalition, including community allies like @TenantsUnionWA, @WFP_WA, @SeattleTRU, and more to advocate for expanded renter protections at the Burien City Council!

When John Legend and WA WFP agree on a candidate, you've gotta vote for them. We don't make the rules.

Today, UFCW 3000 members supported striking @SeattleEdAssoc educators at picket lines around Seattle as they fight for a fair contract that truly addresses the needs of students across the City. We know what it's like to be essential, frontline workers.

We stand with Kent educators who are striking for a better contract, better wages and benefits, and better staffing ratios for kids in need. And we stand with @electshukri who is showing why she's a Working Families candidate.

The Working Families Party response to the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson 🧵: This is a dark day for our nation. A right-wing Supreme Court has stripped women and people seeking abortions of their long-held rights to control their bodies.

And yeah, we see the trend in #waleg this year where great elected officials of color and women are leaving in unprecedented numbers. The legislature needs an overhaul.

Governing bodies in Washington state and the U.S. are not built for women or people of color. The only way to change that is to elect more people from marginalized groups, writes Naomi Ishisaka.

It's not just Ingrid Anderson who got hurt by these games designed to protect incumbents who do the bidding of big business. The change in boundaries put Snoqualmie and North Bend in the same LD as Wenatchee, despite pleas from those communities to not do so.

We strongly backed @empoweredRN in 2020 in a crucial WA State Senate race. Sadly, Senate Dem leaders backed her right-wing Dem opponent (shout-out to those Senate Dems who did endorse Anderson!). So it's not surprising she then got drawn out of 5th LD.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 People are tired of the politics of low expectations and the awful treatment of those who work in and around #waleg Democratic leadership deserves to be called out for the toxic culture they’ve created in their caucus and in the workplace. #vote
And to the Democratic leadership of #waleg -- you cannot expect the people of this state to sit quietly by while good people are driven out, while good policy is either repealed or left on the shelf.
