In our organizing trainings, we teach about the legacy of Claudette Colvin, Rosa Parks, and the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Claudette's actions help us understand the roles of tenacity and strategy in organizing against racism. We're forever grateful for her courage. Rest in power.

We honor the life of Claudette Colvin, whose courageous refusal to surrender her seat as a teenager in Montgomery, Alabama was one of several acts of resistance that challenged segregation before the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Ms. Colvin later became one of the plaintiffs in Browder

Habari gani? Kujichagulia! This #Kwanzaa principle means "self-determination." It is about the Afr-American community's right to define their own identity and forge their own destiny. As we struggle against racism, we must build systems & norms that are free from external lenses.

Today is a day to count our blessings, show our gratitude, and embrace the warmth of our families— born or chosen. It is also a day to reflect on the resilience of our indigenous neighbors, who have overcome centuries of persecution and terror.

Land Back doesn’t mean Indigenous people taking the land from everyone, it means being able to utilize the land as our ancestors did to uplift food sovereignty and have our own self-determination and control of our health.

"Why are there so many people in SNAP?! You all need to get to work!" Excluding children and elderly individuals, the reason why so many people are on SNAP is because this country allows businesses to pay people unlivable wages, which effectively makes SNAP a corporate subsidy.
