The Twitch lurker changes have a lot of streamers freaking out, unless you are pushing for partner, that number really isn't that serious. Stop hyper-fixating on a number because it doesn't take away from the community you are building. Numbers =/ your worth as a creator.

@lucifers_lemon Also; what if it did count? others w better rigs/etc would take advantage & ud have a view botting problem on the platform - pushing those who dont have the following down a ttv w 100ccv would outpace any affiliate if they allowed multiple tabs to count as itd be exploited

also pls dont take me calling it "like a bot acc" as if im @ ing tabbed ppl for being equivalent as bots/not real.. on a personal level im seeing it from an obj perspective.. ur not actively watching, so why should it count (the tab being minimized & un muted is different btw)

& im not disregarding the support of people who do this- i just dont understand why it should count as an engaged viewer.. when it's metrics are how ad RPM ($$) gets decided the viewer/lurker isnt actually LURKING if the tab is muted/closed is my point

perhaps i have an unpopular take- but i agree with twitch's (not new) rules where multiple tabs doesnt count as a viewer cause why should it? it's muted, hidden away, etc.. why should that be a metric? i feel like the "view" is no more different than a bot acc at that point
