@FridoKala The problem is modern art is lazy and derivative compared with the English golden age of painting 1750-1900. Even lesser know works like Turner’s huge trafalgar painting, Thornhill’s painted hall, Richmond’s mosaics in St Paul’s and Lawrence’s Waterloo portraits are excellent.

George Orwell was born to English parents who were working in India at a British company. They moved back to their native England when he was 1. Similar situation with Kipling. If you read Orwell or Kipling’s works you would see they are firmly English
