A wonderful weekend at Lakeland 50. Running 50 miles and climbing the equivalent of over two ascents of Ben Nevis, but delighted to finish safe and sound. The Lake District is a very beautiful place.

Fabulous news shared today. And improvements in data evident for @NHSForthValley as well. Our wonderful new community Infant Feeding Team are determined to build on this and support as many families as possible, working alongside the HV and FNP teamsπ @jt72 @zoe_304
Our Infant Feeding report highlights that breastfeeding health inequalities have reduced over time with more than two thirds (68%) of babies being breastfed for at least some time after birth. Read the report here https://t.co/gRIWhzHS4x

At the start of Scottish Breastfeeding Week 2024, a reminder that a mothers right to breastfeed her baby in public is protected by law ππ
In Scotland, breastfeeding and bottle feeding are protected by the Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005. Preventing someone from feeding a child under two in public is a criminal offence. Everyone should be able to feed without fear. π https://t.co/GhjpBD256Q

This is a really interesting read. Especially when in some parts of the UK women struggle to see a GP for their 6 week postnatal check. Ongoing care would be amazing but not sure how it could be achieved? π€·ββοΈ

Very proud to have been a part of this guideline development. So important to keep working on improving the care of mothers in the perinatal period which will also improve outcomes for children and families.
A huge thanks to the guideline development group members and the SIGN team for making this important work possible. Find the guideline and toolkits at
