The first patient in the UK to benefit from adaptive deep brain stimulation - which reads and responds to brainwaves - has shared how it has left him often feeling as though he "doesn't have Parkinson's". The new @Medtronic functionality was switched on at Bristol Brain Centre.

Researchers at Southmead Hospital are recruiting participants for a clinical trial to see if a vaccine may be able to protect people aged 18 or older against the symptoms caused by the norovirus stomach bug.

Works on the next phase of the Elective Centre will affect a short stretch of Monks Park Avenue, near Southmead Hospital's entrance, from Monday, 22 July for 5-6 weeks. This will involve a lane and part of the pavement being closed and may make journeys slightly longer.
