@ICMRDELHI @MoHFW_INDIA go to UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, etc - govt or Pvt - a single WIDAL or even 1:80 is still used to fool people as Typhoid or Tyfai -malaria, given unnecessary treatment, delays real diagnosis, wrong epi data, unnecessary expenses.

Because of the Widal test’s propensity for erroneous results, the actual burden of typhoid in India remains obfuscated.

#FAIMA appreciate action taken by @NMC_BHARAT on cancelling registration of all involved doctors in #BombBlast on immediate basis. #FAIMA stand by country firmly & demand strict action against culprits who tried to malign such noble profession by doing such heinous crime.

ALL previous attempts at #PublicPrivatePartnership in the state failed, including a similar #PPP where Vedanta was given 50acre @ Re1 for cancer hospital. 8 yrs later they got the land at dirt cheap price & are running it commercially. @bhupeshbaghel must reconsider this decision

After social media outrage, the Madhya Pradesh govt school seen serving mid-day meal on scrap papers has been provided with steel plates.
Mid-day meals in Northern states are an absolute sham. Lacks basic nutrition and hygiene. Here at a govt school in Madhya Pradesh, scrap doubles up as plate for the meals served to students. https://t.co/GOLB3pveY7

Absolute! So Patiently, gracefully, undaunted in that sea of men! Amazing! Inspiring🤗! ✊🏾
Brava to @Gourayy for hitting back and so powerfully! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 Women's bodies are not dissection grounds or commentary sections---and the way in which women artists are "consumed" for voyeuristic purposes by the media (or the public) has to be called out.

@yogeshjain_CG @mdncdc I agree. There are four vaccines manufactured in India, two are WHO pre-qualified. It's a shame that we are not using this vaccine in India inspite of #NTAGI's recommendation.

It also doesn’t mean we can wash off hands by having a vaccine for all waterborne illnesses- not care about providing clean water to all - especially majority- who cannot afford to buy water or install RO systems. Then it becomes business over constitutional right to (good) life!
https://t.co/LllOQGJaxv India needs to vaccinate its people against Typhoid-for free-now!It also won’t automatically get herd immunity by sharing waters with its vaccinated neighbors. #TakeOnTyphoid @jebujohn @WHO @sebingab @yogeshjain_CG @MoHFW_INDIA @GKangInd @iapindia @svembu

Because of the Widal test’s propensity for erroneous results, the actual burden of typhoid in India remains obfuscated.
Relying on the Widal test alone can lead to overdiagnosis in up to 50–70% of suspected cases, as it often gives false-positive results due to past infections or cross-reactivity.

India must prioritize including the typhoid conjugate vaccine in its immunization program to combat the disease's high burden.
I think India should also consider this seriously. Typhoid diagnosis is tricky and unavailable for most, and empirical treatment is often unsatisfactory and unreliable. Even a 80% efficacy vaccine will be good to have. @ICMR @KaminiWalia @mdncdc

So, basically children need to die for the drug regulatory authority to wake up! CDSCO passed the buck to the FSSAI saying it didn't give permission for ORSL or RebalanzVitORS or ORSFIT. So,only if the deaths of children raise a national uproar, then they will act upon the

Even if it is, what are the qualities of this ‘doctor’ - just a degree certificate?
In Aug, I wrote an article in which, among other things, I urged ppl to understand that jus bcz Indian govt officials & politicians say 1:1000 doctor-pop ratio is a "WHO recommendation", does not mean it is coming from @WHO. Seeing ppl continue to repeat that, here's a reminder:

@RemaNagarajan India used to be the Pharmacy of the World. Today it is known as the Poisoner of the World. All thanks to the laxity and incompetence of Indian bureaucracy and corruption within every regulatory body.
