I’ve been thinking about this piece for a year. There’s so much more I could say. The only thing that matters is that Martha should be alive today… ‘We had such trust, we feel such fools’: how shocking hospital mistakes led to our daughter’s death

Martha was 13; her whole life stretched out ahead of her. But our faith in doctors turned out to be fatal. This is what I wish I’d known

Ross, Your help/support in putting that business case together was much appreciated. That indeed was the start of the path that led me to taking up the Clinical Lead role at NHS AAA Screening programme! Many thanks.

Having helped write the business case for Leicester being an ‘early implementing site’ for the start of the UK national AAA screening programme in 2008, I was called for my own screening scan today!! Not to worry; 1.6cm aortic diameter. Thanks Emerald!! Very proficient scan!

As someone who moved here (from the ‘south’) a year and half ago totally agree that it’s a great city to visit and live in….and of course not forgetting the beauty of the surrounding Peak District.

Great to see Sheffield as the only UK city in the top 10, although, I would highly recommend number 16 too...

I love that our British Grand Slam winner’s Twitter bio simply reads “London, Toronto, Shenyang, Bucharest”. 18 years old, arrived here when she was 2. Our parents made us, our journey and heritage makes us. It is what makes us British. #EmmaRaducanu

If you follow me, you may have noticed slightly desperate tweets urging people to get jabbed. This letter in today's paper is one of the reasons. If we don't reduce levels of community infection, more nhs staff will isolate and we will not be able to do all we need to. #GrabAJab

This pictorial accurately reflects what has been the reality for healthcare workers, not just in the UK but throughout the world, during the COVID pandemic. People have demonstrated a lot of resilience but very little reserve left both physically and emotionally.
