W-1 showed it can be done. W-2 proved it can repeated. W-3 made it routine. W-4 made it business as usual. W-5 is now in orbit and gave us two vehicles in space, with multiple customers. Just another day at Varda.

Today we’re announcing two pieces of news: 1) We raised $187 million Series C led by @NatCapCentral and @ShrugCap. 2) We’re expanding into a new lab space to begin work on biologics. Soon, space reentry will be ordinary and drugs made in orbit will be part of everyday care.

The W-4 capsule is equipped with Varda’s first homemade heatshield, but two of its tiles were made at @NASAAmes. This flight will compare the two types of C-PICA—Varda's rapid flight cadence allows researchers to quickly validate materials in the extreme environment of reentry.

W-4 is Varda’s first flight using our FAA vehicle operator license, the first license of its kind issued under Part 450. It is also the first time a Varda vehicle is using a Varda-made C-PICA heatshield.
