Crafted and constructed by hand using sustainable sweet chestnut, we're grateful to the team at Greenspace Designs Ltd who have worked on-site for the past 2 weeks to provide the perfect spot to observe our feathered friends in their natural habitat.

This 2 metre wide strip will be cut around twice a year, with the arisings removed to allow it to flourish. The rest of the field will be cut as normal and access will remain at entrance gates for vehicles and pedestrians.

🌱Making Space for Nature 🐾. 🌱A big thank you to local residents and Restore The Thaw Landscape Project for their help in creating a new wildflower margin at Vale of Glamorgan Council Windmill Lane Playing Fields, using native wildflower seeds and plug plants.

We need your help! We’re looking for volunteers to become Swift Guardians, helping us monitor and record Swift sightings across Barry. We're are also offering free swift boxes, inviting these incredible birds to nest in homes and buildings across the Vale!.

To help provide much needed nesting spaces, a ‘Swift Tower’ is being installed at the Cold Knap Park in Barry. This project is a collaboration between @VOGCouncil, @DwrCymru, Swift Conservation and @glamorganbirds, and is funded by Welsh Government Local Places for Nature Scheme.
