DEP crews have started clearing catch basins *today* and are checking flood-prone areas ahead of the storm. Peak flooding is expected around 8PM Sunday. Avoid driving during that time and report any flooding to 311 so city agencies can respond quickly. Stay safe, Queens.

Hi Queens, a nor’easter is expected to impact NYC from Sunday, Oct 11 thru Monday, Oct 12, bringing heavy rain, dangerous winds, and possible coastal flooding. DEP is monitoring conditions closely and has activated the City’s Flash Flood Plan.
A Nor'easter will impact NYC later this weekend, bringing rain and gusty winds. Strong/damaging winds aren't out of the question either, especially near the shore, but there's still lots of uncertainty in regard to the details. Here's what we know so far: https://t.co/x4lkmFCOub

Today I joined NYC DOT Commissioner Rodriguez, @CMJulieWon + local leaders to open the new 29th St. Plaza in LIC. This reclaimed space, with a beautiful mural by CUNY student Fernanda Contreras, shows what's possible when we open streets, support artists & bring people together.

It was great to welcome @NYSComptroller DiNapoli to Tito Rad’s in Sunnyside for a conversation about the big changes shaping Western Queens! I’m especially glad we were able to connect @scs4ny with more than $30,000 in unclaimed funds, which will only strengthen our community.

Yesterday, we partnered with @scs4ny to host a town hall for members of the Center for Active Older Adults. We discussed issues affecting our community, including transit access + bus routes, housing affordability, & how New York can push back against federal cuts to Medicaid.
