Sorry to hear this Emily. Sadly, despite huge efforts by many to change things, such views are ingrained in many academics. We can only hope it will change sooner rather than later.
Reviewer/panel comments to another rejected grant. Main theme was ”applicant has co-authored ~79 academic articles, >9,380 citations, h-index of 41. Only weaknesses is no stellar papers in top-tier journals”. How is this still legit?! #ImpactFactor #sfDORA #tired.

Exciting data showing importance of SMC loss in ICH in COL4A1 and that this is modulated by NOTCH 3 pathway - might explain why ICH less common in CADASIL despite SMC loss @VaD_Matrix @StrokeGenetics @Cambridgecardio @Cadasilsupport1
