A random thought/request but I can’t help it. Can we please stop using the phrase “a fraction” when trying to describe some small percentage of patients or people with a specific outcome? A fraction can be any number between zero and infinity; and fractions can also be negative.

In its 1998 guidance the FDA put forth a requirement for 2 independent, well controlled trials demonstrating efficacy in order to ensure reproducibility and reduce the risk of false positive results. Rarely (~thrice with some allowances) has this standard been met in the context.
