Dr. Al-Aly's groundbreaking research into Long Covid is improving the lives of Veterans and all Americans.
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Dr. Al-Aly. We're fortunate to have you serving Vets at VA.
At my monthly press conference today, we're announcing an expansion of VA's Close to Me cancer program.
This program provides Veterans with personalized, high-quality, integrated cancer care closer to where they live.

Today, we got a chance to visit Veterans at the Cook County Department of Corrections in Chicago.
VA provides support to Vets involved in our justice system, helping them avoid homelessness and access VA services at the earliest possible moment:
Thank you, Barney, for encouraging your fellow Veterans to get the help they need. Sometimes, that’s not an easy thing to do, but VA will always be here when they are ready.
Medal of Honor Recipient Barney Barnum advocates for VA. He urges Veterans to choose VA for mental health and health care. Colonel Barnum reassures Veterans that VA can assist with their health care needs.
Marcella Ryan LeBeau served in the Army Nurse Corps in WWII and cared for those injured in the Normandy Landings during the Battle of the Bulge. Marcella was from South Dakota and was a member of the Two Kettle Band of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
We honor her service.
Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I have a simple message to all trans Americans:
I see you.
You are made in the image of God, and you're worthy of respect and dignity.
Our nation's heroes deserve the very best health care in America.

, 400,000 Veterans enrolled in VA health care over the past year — 30% more than last year.
We won't rest until every Veteran gets the care they earned.
Welcome home – and thank you – to our nation’s Vietnam Veterans.
You and your families sacrificed so much for our nation – and for all Americans.
We appreciate your service and sacrifice, and we are honored to serve you at VA.
When a Veteran passes away, it's our job to provide them with a lasting resting place that honors their service.
One of the places we do that is Mount Moriah National Cemetery in Pennsylvania, which I got a chance to visit yesterday.
We at VA are proud to honor these heroes.
Proud to be opening a new osteoarthritis center today at the Philadelphia VA.
Veterans live with osteoarthritis at far higher rates than non-Vets, and this facility will be critical to helping those Vets manage their condition and avoid surgery.
