Weekends shouldn’t be time to recover. They should be time to rejoice. Burnout cultures exhaust us through the week and force us to recharge on the weekends. Healthy cultures provide daily space to refuel. Places that continually deplete our energy don’t serve our well-being.

Do students need to take lots of tests to prepare for tests? No. Students need a deep understanding of the curriculum that they can transfer to any setting. Practicing "stress" will not make up for a lack of understanding.

One of the best decisions I've ever made as a prof is to start building my classes to start with 1 week of onboarding followed by just 12 weeks of content. Last 2 weeks are just catchup and reassessment. Course is basically over at Thanksgiving.

.@AbDanielleSmith clarifies what her health spending account is all about. Government will provide “seed funding” and you, sick Albertan” will need to pay the rest and fundraise to pay for your treatment and family doctor visits. If you can’t come up with cash, your loss. #AbLeg
In the stream, she repeated her idea that you need to use your "own money" or raise donations in order to pay for medical care. She doesn't want AHS to "make decisions about whether or not you get medical treatment". So instead, it will depend on your ability to pay for it? /6

For an MLT "patient centered" means decisions are based what's best for the patient. For her "patient centered" means the patient is billed and decides if they can afford care.
🧵Once Albertans get accustomed to Health Spending Accounts, Premier Danielle Smith wants to eliminate coverage for general practitioners, forcing you to pay for each visit to your family doctor or walk-in clinic. /1 #ableg

People are literally training COVID if they share indoor air without a mask while ignoring child hospitalization, and using "immunity debt" as strong justification for both. COVID trainers are a majority of the people with whom I interact. I sure wish that would change. 19/19

The learning process isn't finished when you acquire knowledge. It's complete when you consistently apply that knowledge. Many people accumulate information. Far fewer use it to evolve and improve. The ultimate test of growth is closing the gap between awareness and action.

Our modern system of k-12 education is built on the premise that educators will willingly perform many hours of unpaid labor. With much respect to my colleagues who are grading papers and planning lessons this weekend, we need to quit enabling it. #nced

Our kids will grow up surrounded by unprecedented levels of information and misinformation. It won’t be about finding info, but about evaluating how good it is. They deserve a curriculum that teaches them that, that is what’s at stake in the next election. #AbLeg

Bad leaders see power as an opportunity. Good leaders see it as a responsibility. Framing power as a responsibility can discourage leaders from being selfish, making risky decisions, and ignoring advice. It's time to teach people that power is for service, not self-interest.

The good news about failure is that you can learn so much from it. In fact, you can learn more from your failures than your successes. You just have to be honest with yourself and make sure you don’t make the same mistake twice! #ContinuousImprovement #LearnFromFailure
