The dramatic reversal of the USA's position on Ukraine, which swayed few allies except Israel, is of course the main story. European allies have much to grapple with. Attention on Africa might be further reduced.

The eight "Against" votes are a new high in explicit pro-Russian positions. But Africa is no monolith. African "No" votes have never been static. Not a single country has voted the same in all major votes of the 11th Emergency Special Session.

How did the African Group vote the Ukraine-sponsored resolution in the UNGA "Advancing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in #Ukraine"? The African Group's support for Ukraine has slightly decreased compared to support to resolutions in the first two years of the invasion.
