We recently welcomed new grad students in Integrative Biology and Freshwater and Marine Science programs to iBio. It is exciting to have them as part of our community and we look forward to seeing them contribute to science and education in the coming years!

Congratulations to iBio graduate student Kaitlyn Abshire who won the prestigious Constance Boone Award from the American Malacology Society on her first conference! She presented work on the developmental biology of land snails. We wish Kaitlyn continued success!

A couple weeks ago, first-year Ph.D. student Ben Klementz attended the International Congress of Arachnology in Uruguay. He won the first place prize in oral presentations for his work on the origins of an arachnid leg segment called the patella. Congratulations, Ben!
