Amb. Yon observed @MNDF_Official and U.S. Army Special Forces vessel boarding drills targeting illicit activities in Maldivian waters. The U.S. is proud to work with Maldives & UNODC to combat narcotics, illegal fishing, and other unregulated activities in Maldivian Waters.

Ambassador Yon delivered remarks at @StateDept funded @UNODC expert meeting with Indian Ocean countries. He stressed cooperation to keep sea lanes open, while ensuring sovereignty of the Maldivian waters, and strengthen capacity to counter illegitimate activities in these waters.
