We’ve been observing water flows at many locations in #MD, including at Gunpowder Falls at Hoffmanville, MD (01581810), where last week hydro-techs Mike and Rustin flagged high water marks to calculate and verify streamflow following overnight flooding. 📸 Rustin Pare

We’ll wade. 😉. While we’re waiting, this strange orange boat is the primary way the USGS measure streamflow in person, which helps us understand our nation’s rivers and streams. It’s called an ADCP, which stands for Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler.
