Birthright Citizenship Clause It’s not what you’ve been told, but what’s been accepted. Just like universal injunctions have been around for 70 years, and now they’re gone, in the law, something persists until it’s challenged. Courts can only hear “controversies,” if no one

The media needs to stop calling this an “immigration crackdown.” That’s not what Trump is doing. He’s using the military and federal agents to invade cities and occupy them. Trump is itching for a fight, and he wants it with blue-city mayors and blue-state governors. The good

Imagine thinking, let alone spouting, some nonsense about a foreign leader coming uninvited and trying to attend a private meeting with the President of the United States. Delusional, and yet somehow, people eat this shit up like it’s the truth.

BREAKING: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz just arrived at the White House to meet with Trump, Zelensky and other European leaders, and make sure that Zelensky can't be belittled by Trump in front of the world.

“Hello 911, I’d like to report a murder” Imagine thinking you are a good lib trying to downplay the crime rate in your urban metropolis of choice saying “it’s really not that bad” by comparing it to what in your mind is a crime-ridden shithole, only to find out that the Third

It looks like what one would expect to happen when a much weaker group goes into the territory of a much more powerful group and without provocation slaughters and kidnaps hundreds of civilians. We actually don't have many examples of this sort of thing happening in history

No, the point is the infrastructure is inundated with people who otherwise wouldn’t be here.

@JoshuaSteinman Love this but only because you’re missing the bigger point. Less people driving. That’s the only way to reduce traffic. What would permanently solve this probably is better modes of transportation (trains, buses, trams, etc) with extensive networks.

The GOP’s budget cuts to NOAA are set to take effect at the start of fiscal year 2026, which begins on October 1, 2025. Anyone making the deaths of the children in Texas about partisan politics is morally bankrupt. Please reflect.

“Undocumented immigrants.” It is the euphemism of the 2020s. As if an undocumented immigrant could just walk into an immigration office and file for application for a visa, and be approved without committing some sort of fraud or asylum claim. Even “illegal immigrant” is too

Turns out we’ve got a lot of really, really bad people in this country. And almost none of them are undocumented immigrants.

This episode of Slate’s Amicus podcast was delicious. The wailing is incredible. The amount of bad faith used to “analyze” last week’s SCOTUS opinions is like over salting a steak. “…In the tsunami of horrors that came down in the last couple of days… Because the Court is

Here's the case. Trump's alignment with Putin - and his plan to sell out Ukraine - is shameful. But it's part of a bigger story. Trump sides with dictators bc it legitimizes his plan for America: a Russian-style kleptocracy where the rich steal from us to enrich themselves.

It may come as a surprise, but by swearing an oath to the Constitution, they’re swearing to work at the pleasure of the Commander in Chief a/k/a the President, under Article II of the Constitution.

I'm extremely alarmed to see President Trump fired several high-ranking military officials. The men & women in these roles swore an oath to the Constitution — not a president. Removing these experienced leaders damages our national security & puts our service members at risk.

Before "malicious compliance" there was "Washington Monument Syndrome", where government agencies would go along with budget cuts by cutting the things the public is the most likely to get upset about.
