Yesterday, UNHCR Rep and Maradi Governor launched the construction of 6 vocational training centres in Guidan Roumdji and Chadakori 🇳🇪. Supported by #KOICA and implemented with @GoodNeighbors, the project strengthens self-reliance and resilience of refugees and host communities.

À Ouallam, les réfugiés peuvent désormais accéder au crédit grâce aux institutions de microfinance locales, un levier essentiel pour leur inclusion financière et leur autonomie économique. Une avancée clé vers la résilience, rendue possible avec le soutien de KOICA.

Challenges like long distances and parents’ limited resources hinder refugee access to education. Just 10% of refugee children reach secondary school, 0.2% make it to university. Yet teachers remain dedicated.

Thanks to Niger’s inclusive policy, refugee children can learn in the same conditions as their Nigerien classmates. Teachers provide not only education but also hope and stability for children who have fled their homes and endured trauma. #WorldTeachersDay 2/4
