#UN80's latest recommendations provide a diagnosis of why reform is needed. But to make the UN stronger we need to go beyond treating symptoms: we need comprehensive & inclusive reform. This can be achieved through an Article 109 Conference to review the #UNCharter.

The #UNCharter affects us all: it impacts how we respond to conflicts, the climate crisis & new technologies. But the Charter, written 80 years ago, can no longer cope with the challenges of our time. It's time to mobilise for the renewal of the Charter through Article 109.

By invoking Art.109, a review conference of the @UN Charter would take place. From this, the UN may give prominence to the #ClimateCrisis; either through re-structuring the UN bodies, or through the inclusion of the #ClimateCrisis in founding the Charter. #COP29
