UNCG has received a $3.7M @NIH grant for sand fly research to combat parasitic disease leishmaniasis. The zoonotic disease affects well over 1M people each year. The research team is led by @UNCGresearch's Dr. Wasserberg, with collaborators at @ncstate.

With NIH funding, UNCG-led team will determine how to attract and kill egg-bearing P. papatasi sand flies, to combat leishmaniasis.
