The San Diego World Affairs travelogue event, Celebrating San Diego's Multiculturalism, was a success. With brilliant guest speakers and a fun scavenger hunt after, participants got to experience the culture of dozens of countries, learn about travel, and enter a 500$ raffle.

Annually on October 11th, the International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated. It celebrates girls everywhere, amplifying their voices and leadership. It stems from the 1995 World Conference where countries unanimously adopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

Art created by neurodivergent individuals is in the exhibit “Art of Autism: A Different Lens.” The Art of Autism org and the Oceanside Museum of Art invites communities to view autism through a new lens. This specific exhibit will be open to the public up until August 3rd.

April 7th marks the beginning of the 1994 Rwandan genocide which lasted for 100 days. Every year, “the United Nations organizes commemorative events at its Headquarters…The purpose is to honor the memory of the victims, and pay tribute to the survivors while raising awareness”

Last week, hundreds gathered in downtown San Diego for a women and human rights march. Activists marched for their movement with positive energy in celebration of Women’s day. “This goes beyond women's rights, it's human rights. It's our very existence” (Lai, 2025).
