Pickleball has made me a much better athlete than Tennis ever did. Faster reaction time and speed are needed since the ball is only coming from 10 feet away. Point for point, pickleball requires more skill than tennis.
I played practice sets against Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Steve Johnson, and more when I was 17 and ranked 1 in the country. I understand the level of the top tennis pros. Pickleball requires more skill in several aspects.
@TweenerKing
Haha. That might be because you were playing a pretty low level of tennis. Maybe if you were familiar with the athleticism it takes to excel at the sport you would realize how ridiculous this statement is.
Switching from a one-handed backhand to a two-hander is going to require taking steps back before you can continue taking steps forward.
Repetition is key
We’ve barely scratched the surface of pickleball’s potential. Imagine if pickleball had more athletes like Federer, Djokovic, and Alcaraz. Then we could compare. Come to pickleball, you might be able to break the top 10
@TweenerKing
Yeah. Let’s hide under the bed after this statement hahahaha bro get me the best pickleball player and compare his talent to Roger Federer. Wild tweet, wild thought. Delete right now 😂 I love pickle. But you had too many tequilas 😵

@andyroddick
how about this. I challenge you three to back to back singles matches for 100K each. I’ll give you 2/1 odds which in your minds should be crazy good odds. You have 6 months to train. Don’t worry, I’ll donate my winnings to charity
The pickleball level continues to rise rapidly. It’s awesome to see new players making it to the semis and finals every weekend! Can’t wait to see where this sport goes! Sky is the limit🌤️😆
Since my love and passion is for pickleball, not tennis, I will focus on the pickleball tour BUT I do have some time off in August. Give me a couple days to get a feel for the ball and I’ll take you on in Tennis and Pickleball if you think you still got it
@TweenerKing
@NickKyrgios
@andyroddick
5. Your initial comment was comparing tennis and pickle, so the fairer wager would be you train at tennis for 6 months and we train at pickle for 6 months and see who is more successful. Let’s do that one. I won’t even train once and I like my odds.
Today, June 13th, is the one year anniversary of when I started playing pickleball (had played <15 times with Family and friends during Covid). This was only 2 weeks after my UChicago Tennis team won the D3 NCAA Title. Best year of my life
Every day I think about dropping out of college for pickleball, but then I remember I’m done in March and should probably finish if I made it this far.

I don’t believe you trained MLB for years before that batting practice. At the end of the day, what makes a sport great is the players who make them great: Michael Jordan, Roger Federer, Connor McGregor, Simone Biles, Messi… pickleball needs more of that
@TweenerKing
I took batting practice with an MLB team. That doesn’t mean I have any clue the talent, skill, and work ethic it takes to get to that level of baseball.
There was a player this weekend that overruled the ref who overruled my teams call because we were positive that the ball was out, and if that’s not the definition of sportsmanship then I don’t know what is.

Trying to find an open pickleball court at a public park is the closest thing to making me retire pickleball and pick up a sport that no one recreationally plays, like tennis.
I’m relatively new to the sport of pickleball, but I have also noticed insane differences among paddles. It’s crazy how plausible it is to have an illegal advantage in professional pickleball and not get caught.
Who’s got a solution?
I’m at PPA Desert Ridge, and Pros are scrambling around because we can’t warm up at the site the day before until 4:30pm (sun sets at 6pm).
Some can find courts elsewhere, some can’t.
Having pro dedicated warm-up courts the day before a tournament would be cool.
It’s been less than 8 months since I played my first pro pickleball tournament and less than 11 months since I quit tennis for pickleball. Feels like a lifetime
I bet James Ignatowich wakes up in the middle of the night sweating about the fact he’s been playing pickleball for two years, I haven’t reached a year yet, and my tweeners skyrocket past his
In pickleball (and life), control what you can control. If your opponent is playing really well, focus on what you can do to change that situation (new game plan, smarter shot selection, timeout, etc.). You will lose. Learn from it and move on.
Less than 6 months ago, I told myself I would post one tweet a day regardless of whether I wanted to or not. I have. In the last 4 months, I have gained NEARLY One-Thousand followers (Over 500% growth rate). CONSISTENCY IS KEY
