The report "Evaluating Promising Practices in the Field of Alternatives to Return Policies" offers practical recommendations to address the challenges irregular migrants face beyond detention and deportation.
On migration, returns are not the only option (and are often unlawful and impossible). Access to regularisation pathways and basic rights are necessary alternatives that are already in place & to be further used. 👉 Find out more on #EUMigrationPolicy.

In practice, more restrictive detention and deportation policies not only prove ineffective but also result in violations of fundamental rights. Our project also demonstrate that alternative solutions to both detention and deportation are not only possible but preferable. (3/3).
