Today in Kindergarten we read a story and then used the @ProjectZeroHGSE Thinking Routine “Color, Symbol, Image.” This reflective activity enhanced our comprehension of the story! @TuckahoeSchool @TuckahoeAP @APSGifted #tuckahoerocks

We’re wrapping up our Iceland Geology RAFTs! Check out this letter and podcast script! “Icelandic sheep” was a popular choice for the “role” part of our RAFTs 😊🐑 @TuckahoeLibrary @TuckahoeSchool @APSGifted #tuckahoerocks

K, 1st, and 2nd grade teams explored the Critical and Creative Thinking Strategy called FFOE (Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration). We did a teacher version to experience it ourselves. Then we saw examples for science & social studies FFOEs @APSGifted @TuckahoeSchool

Any chance we get to talk about Iceland AND extend our knowledge of our ELA unit - sign me up!
We kicked off a new library unit! Ms. Weisz cotaught an intro lesson about Icelandic geology, working with 4th grade science standards. Nothing makes geology come alive like Iceland, esp. when the teachers learned from the best with @GeocampIceland. @TuckahoeAAC @APSLibrarians

We received an exciting package in the mail today! Some of our Tuckahoe second graders wrote to Icelandic students in the fall - and they wrote back 😊 They even sent a tiny Icelandic sweater ❤️ #tuckahoerocks @TuckahoeAP @2ndgradesliders @TuckahoeSchool

What’s the best way to start winter break? With a “salad-bration” of course! @TESschoolyard & the Green Team did an incredible job planning & prepping salad grown from Tuckahoe’s gardens for 5th grade to enjoy. “Lettuce” eat! 🥬🥕🥒🍅 #tuckahoerocks @TuckahoeAP @TuckahoeSchool

A volcanic eruption has started near Grindavík in Iceland. This is the 4th eruption in 3 years. Stay safe everyone 🇮🇸❤️
An eruption has started on the Reykjanes peninsula. The eruption is located about 3 km north of Grindavik. The eruption began at 22.17 following the earthquake swarm that started around 21:00. https://t.co/9vYBBjNcX9

3rd grade is using choice boards to extend their learning with CKLA. Our readers used CCT strategies like FFOE (Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration) and S.C.A.M.P.E.R. to think creatively about their animal adaptations unit @TuckahoeSchool @APSGifted @TuckahoeAP

Ms. Baylor’s class used a CKLA choice board today to wrap up their learning on Early Asian Civilizations. Students created analogies about silk and movie posters about Confucius to extend their thinking #tuckahoerocks @TuckahoeSchool @TuckahoeAP

Ms. Baylor’s class stretched their addition & subtraction thinking playing “headache.” The judge finds the sum of both players’ numbers & tells the players. Players solve for the number on their own forehead using their opponents number and the sum @TuckahoeSchool #tuckahoerocks
