I’ll never get over the fact that Ricky Rudd and Mark Martin were genuinely competitive for over 30 years in the Modern Era of NASCAR. Just insane.
March 1, 2013: Mark Martin won the 56th and final pole of his Cup career. It came 31 years, 7 months, and 19 days after his first pole, the longest timespan in NASCAR history.

@KyleLarsonRacin Sorry Kyle, didn’t know you’d see this :(. Here’s a good stat:. You’ve led 75% or more of a Cup race in 1.40% of your starts. This is the 4th best of any driver in the Modern Era. Cale Yarborough - 4.37%.Dale Earnhardt - 1.92%.Bobby Allison - 1.68%.Kyle Larson - 1.40%.

This is the shortest NASCAR Cup Series race since Watkins Glen in 1992, won by Kyle Petty (124.95 miles). This is the 2nd shortest race in the ENTIRETY of the Modern Era (1972-Present), 1,727 races.
Total distance of that race: 127.6 miles. Would love to know where that ranks among the shortest NASCAR Cup Series races ever.

This almost doesn’t sound real but the last time the 34 car led this many laps in a Cup Series race was literally the first NASCAR Cup Series race EVER. Race number 1 all the way back in 1949.
Michael McDowell is now the winningest driver of the 34 car in Cup Series history. Today was also the most laps the 34 has EVER led in a Cup Series race. Michael McDowell - 2 wins.Wendell Scott - 1 win.Jim Roper - 1 win.David Ragan - 1 win.Chris Buescher - 1 win
