In Gov. Ferguson’s response to Pam Bondi, he used the word authoritarian… I immediately thought that was hilarious given the history and had similar thoughts to Todd here. Todd points out an obvious one, but the list is actually quite long for authoritarian measures in WA.
Some in Washington claim they are concerned about “authoritarianism.” I welcome the concern. Existing emergency power law says the Governor may “prohibit any activity that he believes should be prohibited.” . If legislators are truly concerned, they can limit this power. #waleg

These were spending increases, during a deficit, and paid for by the largest tax increases in state history. Meanwhile Democrats gutted Medicaid and stole child support from single mothers on the edge of poverty to help pay for it.
