My dad is a Vietnam vet. When I told him I was trans, he didn’t get it. Most parents don’t. Later he said: when you’re in at war, you don’t care who the guy next to you is, only if he has your back. Change can happen. Thanks @Newsweek for running this on #TransAwarenessWeek
