Very emotive and thought provoking talk from @ScrubSurvivors today. We need to feel empowered to call out inappropriate behaviour which is deemed just banter.

"Trust leaders raise alarm over mad approach to scrutiny of maternity services" - an important article in @HSJnews today... My thoughts thread🧵:- https://t.co/ruWPtjLdi4
hsj.co.uk
The management of fragile maternity services is being hamstrung by a lack of clear standards and direction from government and regulators, trust chairs and chief executives have told HSJ.

At RDUH eastern site we had a ceremony for the start of baby loss awareness week. We gathered to tie ribbons to our remembrance tree for all babies taken too soon. #BabyLossAwarenessWeek #babyloss

Maternity care does not required obstetricians in the future then @NHSEngland ? @RCObsGyn either excluded from report or do not want to be associated with it.

Our new NHS #PatientSafety strategy case studies share examples of the impact the strategy is having, including an estimated 465 babies lives saved since 2020, due to optimal cord management during labour. https://t.co/F1QvuLqsK1

Interesting data presented #RCOG2023. No correlation between CQC rating of maternity units and outcomes when looking at NMPA data.

Given that 8996 newly graduated junior doctors joined our NHS in August 2022… there’s a loss here isn’t there @SteveBarclay ? 👉 For clarity - You’re showing us that we’re losing more doctors than we’re gaining.
📈The latest stats show record numbers of NHS staff, with over 5,100 more doctors and over 11,800 more nurses working in the NHS compared to January 2022. The NHS will soon publish a long term workforce plan focused on recruiting and retaining more staff.
