This is an extraordinary, heartbreaking piece of writing. And as a river-dweller whose house is on stilts, nightmare-inducing.

Every 'embarrassing' mother of a teenager is just a middle aged woman who's finally decided she doesn't care what anyone thinks, isn't she? And isn't that wonderful.

The narrator of the audiobook for my next novel The House on the Cliff, the brilliant Lucy Scott (no relation) has emailed to tell me how much she's loving reading it. This is a real compliment coming from such a wonderful actress. Looking forward to sharing the cover soon!.

After my daughter's C-section. They had tried and failed to give me a spinal anaesthetic so when they gave oxytocin afterwards, causing the womb to contract (to minimise the risk of bleeding), without anaesthesia after major abdominal surgery. It hurt. A lot.

I will never forget it. A city with no public transport for a day; people walking instead, clinging to each other. Sending love and prayers to everyone who was affected by the horrors on that day.

7/7/05 was my very first day at what was then BBC News 24. As I drove in, I heard reports of a power surge on the tube. By the time I'd got to Television Centre, the full horror was becoming apparent, and my training had been cancelled. Unable to use the systems yet, I spent the.

This is why we need journalists. Staff journalists with proper money behind them to investigate things. Not influencers looking for advertising revenue, but journalists with legal depts behind them who can back them up on this stuff. Brilliant work.

Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with The Salt Path: the story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. It became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film. But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth. @chloehadj. Read:

Catching up with the Alanis Morrissette set at #Glastonbury. She was the soundtrack to my teenage angst, and wow, both she and the songs have not lost any of their power. "And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back, I hope you feel it. ".

I've just spotted that the UK paperback of The Storyteller's Daughter is currently discounted at just £9.99 on Amazon. Worth buying now if you have it on your wishlist or intend to give it as a present (it's usually £12.99.).
