I'm thrilled to be updating my profile details, as I rejoin @UNSWLaw on 12 Feb as a Professor in the School of Private & Commercial Law. I look forward to rejoining many of my colleagues, including working with @CIBELUNSW & @weaponisedtrade project. But before that, Bali holiday!

Amazing work done by @uonlawschool ‘s @Rhanee__ Rhanee Rego - persistence over so many years to address Australia’s most egregious wrongful conviction. Law school staff were all on stage at graduation ceremony when the result was announced & the news rippled across the stage.
Kathleen Folbigg, once labelled as the nation's worst female serial killer, has her convictions for killing her four children overturned by the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal.

It was wonderful to be able to present our @weaponisedtrade research to a broad audience of academics and policy makers from across the Indo-Pacific.
@UNSWLaw @TooheyL & @MarkusAWagner presented their ongoing and timely research project on the international law applicable to varied measures of economic statecraft used to advance foreign policy objectives, and asked whether a doctrine of “weaponized trade” is (and should be) emerging.

I’ve travelled to Asia over a long enough period that I should know better than to order “pungent” dumplings, esp for breakfast. The taste is sensational but the chilli/Szechuan pepper combo has left me coughing in a fashion that is no longer acceptable in the covid era.
