Tony Allen, drummer extraordinaire, passed away last night in Paris. He created Afrobeat. I worked with him in 2018 with Damon Albarn, Paul Simonon and Simon Tong on the last The Good, The Bad & The Queen album, Merrie Land. Tony was one of the BEST drummers in the WORLD!

It seems that news of a recent MRI scan alarmed some folks. Hey, it was just a routine test. The result was negative for carcinoma. A tiny bit was discovered during a kidney stone op last September. The surgeon scraped all of it out and it hasn’t returned since. Happy Happy.

The Holy Holy winter tour ended last night in Cambridge to an extremely enthusiastic crowd. It's a very little known fact that traditionally one eats one's instrument when a tour is over. It took me about 20 minutes to consume every last splinter. This is the first bite.

MRIs are hell for me. Claustrophobia runs in the family. But I just got through a 40 minute session with eyes closed and meditation, even visualized doing tai chi in the outdoors. It worked!
